Governor Greg Abbott said Texans would do what they needed to do to keep themselves and their families safe from Coronavirus. That mask mandates were not only not necessary, they should be blocked, even as Covid raged through our state. Hospitals were on the verge of being overwhelmed.

Not a week later, the Governor himself got infected with the virus.

It’s time for Governor Abbott to get out of the way and let local leaders decide what protections their communities need.
